Hereford 2-1 Telford
I, Will 2003-09-23 23:42:23

After getting hammered at Burton last week, Hereford were desperate to re-establish themselves, and began this match in style, a fantastic passing move finishing with an inch perfect cross and Steve Guinan heading past Telfords helpless keeper, after only 6 minutes. The rest of the half saw Hereford in control, and unlucky not to add to the total.

Once again though, after half-time the passing went astray and Telford began to gain in confidence. Matt Baker was forced to save Hereford a number of times, once after defender Richard Teesdale fell while trying to be too clever under pressure. Inevitably and deservedly Telford got their equaliser with 10 minutes to go, and pushed forward looking for a winner, but it was Hereford who raised their game and grabbed a last minute goal, with Ryan Green scrambling home hardworking Jamie Pitman's cross.

The home fans left Edgar Street relieved, but sooner or later Hereford's inconsistency will be punished.
